Whitelabel peptide apps: what to ask before you buy
“Whitelabel” gets used loosely in this category. If your clinic already has a brand and a customer base, here’s what the term actually covers, and the questions worth asking before you sign anything.
What the term covers
Three common branding tiers
- Vendor-branded
- Patients see the vendor's name and app. Usually the cheapest or free tier — you're plugging your patients into someone else's product, not your own.
- Co-branded
- Your clinic's name sits alongside the vendor's ("[Your Clinic], powered by [Vendor]"). A middle ground — real brand presence without the cost of a fully separate app.
- Full whitelabel
- Your brand only — own domain, own app-store listing in some cases, no vendor mention visible to the patient. Usually the most expensive tier, and the one worth the most scrutiny on the questions below.
Before you sign
Questions worth asking a vendor
- Whose brand does the patient actually see?
- Confirm which of the three tiers above you're actually buying — "whitelabel" gets used loosely, and what you see in a sales deck isn't always what ships.
- Is your patient data yours, and exportable?
- If you switch vendors later, can you take your patient list, protocol history, and consent records with you — or does it stay locked in their system?
- Is the product catalog scoped to what you actually stock?
- A generic recommendation engine can suggest a compound you don't carry, sending your own patient to buy it somewhere else — inside your own branded app. Ask whether the catalog is scoped to your inventory.
- How does pricing actually scale?
- Per seat, per active patient, or a flat platform fee — and what happens to the number as your panel grows from 20 patients to 200? Get the shape of the pricing, not just the launch number.
- What happens to your patients if you leave?
- Whitelabel software is still a PHI-handling relationship. Ask what the offboarding process actually looks like before you're the one asking mid-contract.
Where Peplo fits
Co-brand or full whitelabel, your patients stay yours
Peplo offers co-branded and full-whitelabel options for clinics with their own name and patient base — your brand runs the app, your patients never see ours. We're setting terms with founding clinicians directly, not publishing a generic price list, because the details (catalog scoping, data terms, brand tier) are worth a real conversation, not a form.
